I am at my wit’s end. The neighbour’s cat continues to defecate in my front and side gardens. This had been a minor annoyance once per month ever since we moved in, we put it down to it being an
So far I have tried:
Chilli powder – which is then washed away by the rain before having a chance to become effective.
Orange peel, the cat simply avoids these and uses unprotected parts of the garden.
Ground coffee beans, washed away / cat simply finds another place in the garden.
Ultrasonic devices – we have two, they kind of work but the cat again simply finds another place within the confines of our garden. We need more – at a cost.
The problem is that the odours have gone systemic, it’s like a poo beacon. The law needs to be revised as I believe the waste from one cat is attracting others. Ours is a corner plot and is beginning to cost us money in defending it from cats.
If it transpires that the neighbour does not have a cat litter box then perhaps they should get one. It is very stressful, I hate living there when things like this crop up and the neighbours seem to be very ‘hands off’ .
