Saturday Morning Stroll

Saturday 18th January, 25

I decided to stick the directive of consistency first and foremost, keeping today’s wandering local, plus I didn’t have the whole day to use up with Chris working the morning we wanted to go somewhere in the afternoon.

So it was a mash-up of last Sunday’s walk really. I decided to head off towards the large Tesco at the edge of Town Lane Kew and Meols Cop Road then turn left down Scarisbrick New Road, turn left onto the Hospital path, then down to meet up with … Town Lane, the names couldn’t get more confusing around here if they tried! I crossed over to Kew Wood and instead of heading for the summit, my usual route, I circumnavigated around a lovely quiet stretch featuring hardly any dog walkers and a view of the nearby allotments, which only seemed to have one person in attendance, it was cold. After some minor ups and downs and pausing to get some photos of the horses and donkey, I arrived at the bottom of Warwick Street where I headed over to Birch Street, passed the turn off for Stamford Road – which I had meant to take and ended up on Kew Road. I wandered down Kew Road to Guildford Road then turned right onto Moss Road all the way to where it becomes Birdale Cop and then onto the Boundary path up to Alngford Drive and then home. A lovely stroll around the neighbourhood with scope for many deviations and extensions…when it’s a bit warmer, I was getting really cold out there today!
